<p>Ikan mas memiliki pangsa konsumen cukup besar, terutama di Jawa, Sumatra Utara, Sumatra Barat, Sumatra Selatan, dan Sulawesi Utara. Minat masyarakat terhadap ikan mas semakin meningkat seiring peningkatan konsumsi ikan yang saat ini dicanangkan pemerintah dalam rangka peningkatan konsumsi ikan oleh masyarakat. Wirausaha ikan mas semakin diminati masyarakat untuk dikembangkan dalam bentuk usaha pembenihan dan pembesaran, baik di Kolam Air Tenang (KAT), Kolam Air Deras (KAD), di sawah sebagai mina padi, sistem longyam maupun dalam keramba atau Keramba Jaring Apung (KJA) di waduk, sungai, dan danau.</p><p>Indonesia memiliki keanekaragaman jenis atau ras ikan mas unggulan, seperti ikan mas majalaya, punten, sinyonya, merah atau mas, taiwan, yamato, lokal, rajadamu, kumpay, kancra domas, fancy, dan koi. Pengembangan usaha budi daya ikan ini perlu didukung dengan informasi dan inovasi teknologi tepat guna hasil penelitian para pakar dan teknologi yang berkembang di lapangan. Buku ini menyajikan tema wirausaha ikan mas secara intensif, layak dimiliki oleh segenap pelaku dan pemerhati wirausaha komoditas tersebut.<br></p>
