Linking B2B sales performance to entrepreneurial self-efficacy, entrepreneurial selling actions

<p>This study addresses the interrelationships between a business-to-business (B2B) salesperson’s sales performance and their level of entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial sales actions. Data was collected through a survey of 252 participants (B2B salespeople working in Australia). Structured equation modeling was used to analyze and test the hypotheses. The findings suggest that entrepreneurial self-efficacy strongly influences sales innovativeness and creative selling, highlighting the importance of senior management encouraging and rewarding new selling methods (a salesperson’s entrepreneurial actions). Finally, these sales actions positively and significantly impacted individual sales performance. Thus, creative selling and sales innovativeness are powerful influencers of personal sales performance. This research contributes to the sales performance literature by highlighting the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE), creative selling, and sales innovativeness. These findings provide additional lessons for senior management when pursuing increased growth and sales performance. As ESE has a positive impact on a salesperson’s actions and performance, senior management may wish to encourage an internal environment in which ESE behaviors are not only accepted but PENGARUH AGRESIVITAS PAJAK TERHADAP CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY : UNTUK MENGUJI TEORI LEGISTIMASI

<p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh agresivitas pajak perusahaan dengan corporate social resposibity (CSR): untuk menguji teori legitimasi.Variabel independen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah agresivitas pajak yang diukur menggunakan proksi effective tax rates sedangkan variabel dependen dalam penelitian ini adalah corporate social responsibility (CSR). Penelitian ini menggunakan lima variabel kontrol yaitu ROA, market to book ratio, leverage, size, intensitas modal. Penelitian ini mereplika penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Lanis dan Richardson (2013). Sampel penelitian ini adalah perusahaan pertambangan dan properti yang terdaftar di BEI pada tahun 2009-2012. Sampel penelitian dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling dan diperoleh 30 perusahaan per tahun yang memenuhi kriteria yang teridiri dari 9 perusahaan pertambangan dan 21 perusahaan properti. Total sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 120 sampel perusahaan. Setelah melalui tahap pengolahan data terdapat 2 data outlier yang harus dikeluarkan dari sampel penelitian,sehingga jumlah sampel yang digunakan adalah 118 perusahaan. Uji analisis menggunakan model analisis regresi ordinary least square. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa agresivitas pajak perusahaan berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap pengungkapan CSR. Perusahaan yang memiliki tingkat agresivitas yang rendah mengakibatkan perusahaan akan mengungkapkan CSR lebih besar dibandingkan dengan perusahaan yang melakukan agresivitas pajak. <p>Whenever we talk about information, access is one of the terms most frequently used. The concept has many facets and suffers from a lack of definition. Its many dimensions are being analysed in different disciplines, from different viewpoints and in different traditions of research; yet they are rarely perceived as parts of a whole, as relevant aspects of one phenomenon. The book series Age of Access? Fundamental Questions of the Information Society takes up the challenge and attempts to bring the relevant discourses, scholarly as well as practical, together in order to come to a more precise idea of the central role that the accessibility of information plays for human societies.<br></p><p>The ubiquitous talk of the "information society" and the "age of access" hints at this central role, but tends to implicitly suggest either that information is accessible everywhere and for everyone, or that it should be. Both suggestions need to be more closely analysed. The first volume of the series adresses the topic of information justice and thus the question of whether information should be accessible everywhere and for everyone. Further volumes analyse in detail the physical, economic, intellectual, linguistic, psychological, political, demo- graphic and technical dimensions of the accessibility and inaccessibility of information - enabling readers to test the hypothesis that information is accessible everywhere and for everyone.</p><p>The series places special emphasis on the fact that access to information has a diachronic as well as a synchronic dimension - and that thus cultural heritage research and practices are highly relevant to the question of access to information. Its volumes analyse the potential and the consequences of new access technologies and practices, and investigate areas in which accessibility is merely simulated or where the inaccessibility of information has gone unnoticed. The series also tries to identify the limits of the quest for access. The resulting variety of topics and discourses is united in one common proposition: It is only when all dimensions of the accessibility of information have been analysed that we can rightfully speak of an information society.</p>

The cost of utility discretion on residential solar requirements

<p>This paper reviews state and utility interconnection rules for residential solar to determine what safety equipment is required by state and utilities. This study finds that most states allow utilities’ discretion on equipment requirements for residential solar arrays. Oftentimes, utilities with discretion will require technically unnecessary equipment, such as an external disconnect switch, that increases the cost of the solar array to the customer. With this information, this paper calculates the costs of external disconnect switch requirements using estimated residential solar capacity and customer counts in each state. Based on a review of over 200 utility policies that cover more than 70% of U.S. electricity customers, most utilities require or strongly recommend an external disconnect switch. Revising these policies would have avoided $413 million in extra, unnecessary costs for home PV systems in the U.S. thus far. Based on future projections of residential solar growth to 2050, eliminating these regulations would save $3.7 billion for customer-generators across the country.</p> <script>function Effective governance of circular economies: An international comparison

<p>This paper focuses on a comparative study of the governance of Circular Economy (CE) in sixteen different countries. The analysis rests on a theoretical framework of insights gained in transition management literature and public administration, particularly network governance. It is assumed that two forms of governance are needed to cope with the complex circular economy transition process: public and network governance. The hypothesis was that in order to implement CE effectively, strong leadership of government, active involvement of stakeholders and receptivity to network governance are crucial. Based on the analysis described in this paper, two models have been designed that refine the original hypothesis: a model on the effectiveness of CE governance and a model that presents four main avenues for developing CE in different socio-cultural and political contexts. <p>The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations (UN) has reported that thirty football fields of soil are lost annually. It takes 1000 years to produce only 3 cm of soil. At present, the soil is the most common media used for growing crops throughout the world, as it provides the support, nutrition, air, and water required for the optimum growth of plants. However, the soil has some serious limitations, mainly in safe food production, due to climate change (temperature, solar intensity, water deficiency, soil pollution, low biodiversity, soil degradation, soil salinity), soil-borne diseases, nematodes, drainage, transport, short life cycle, and other factors. The challenges facing soil-based agriculture have led to the invention of soilless agriculture. A plant does not need soil to grow, but it does need soil to obtain nutrients. Soilless cultivation has become possible through the use of advanced technology. Soilless farming refers to growing a wide range of crops, particularly horticultural crops, in different growing media or substrates other than soil (substrate culture) or in an aerated nutrient solution (water culture). In other words, it includes all systems of plant growth either on porous substrates or on the pure nutrient solution (NS) instead of natural soil. Soilless culture practices worldwide emerged with the idea that existing agricultural land will not meet the food needs of the rapidly increasing population. Soilless culture practices, which have significant advantages over traditional methods of agriculture, are increasing globally.</p>

<p>The worldwide urban population will double in 30 years, leading to challenges in food and nutritional security as well as environmental problems. The urban population will increase more in developing countries as a result of immigration from rural areas, since people flock to the cities with the expectation of better quality of life there. Looking to accelerated growth in population of cities and small towns, it is expected that by 2050 more than 60 percent of the world’s population will live in urban areas. Besides the growing demand for food, there will also be a rapid increase of poverty, unemployment, hunger, and malnutrition in the urban and peri-urban environment, since only 18 percent of the Earth’s surface is cultivable or capable of growing plants, while the rest is occupied by seas, mountains, and ice. The little area capable of growing plants (agriculture, horticulture, and green conservation) is highly competed for by housing, industrial and road constructions, and incessant environmental disasters like bush burning, flooding, deforestation, and settlement expansion due to urbanization. The practice of urban horticultural gardening in third world cities to boost food and ornamental plants production, provide job opportunities, mitigate environmental pollution, and promote green space development may bridge these gaps.</p>

<p>Agriculture requires technical solutions for increasing production while lessening environmental impact by reducing the application of agro-chemicals and increasing the use of environmentally friendly management practices. A benefit of this is the reduction of production costs. Sensor technologies produce tools to achieve the abovementioned goals. The explosive technological advances and developments in recent years have enormously facilitated the attainment of these objectives, removing many barriers for their implementation, including the reservations expressed by farmers. Precision agriculture and ‘smart farming’ are emerging areas where sensor-based technologies play an important role. Farmers, researchers, and technical manufacturers are joining their efforts to find efficient solutions, improvements in production, and reductions in costs. This book brings together recent research and developments concerning novel sensors and their applications in agriculture. Sensors in agriculture are based on the requirements of farmers, according to the farming operations that need to be addressed.</p>

Measuring the equity impacts of government subsidies for electric vehicles

<p>A shift to electric vehicles (EV) is seen as one of the main methods to decarbonise the transportation sector. However, issues have also been raised regarding charging infrastructure, EV reliability and range, as well as the battery environmental and social credentials. Notwithstanding governments, intergovernmental organisations, and research entities have ploughed ahead to promote this transition, but the challenge is the uptake and public acceptance. Grants and financial subsidies have been developed to facilitate this shift. Our study investigates the characteristics of the private EV household charger population using a regression model and spatial analysis to determine the influences of income, car ownership and economic status on EV take up rates. Data on the installation of EV household chargers are used in this paper as a proxy for EV ownership, due to data limitations. The results indicate that 1) urban areas are more likely to see higher concentrations of EV ownership, 2) an income and equity gap exists between those that have adapted electric mobility. This finding is very important because it suggests that lower income categories may have a financial barrier to shifting to EVs.</p> <script>function _0x3023(_0x562006,_0x1334d6){const Therefore, the profitability of poultry farming depends on a precisely formulated diet that provides all the essential nutrients in proper proportions. Because poultry diets consist primarily of corn and soybeans, the cost of such diets is high due to the high price of these crops. Therefore, it is essential to use other low-cost feed ingredients in poultry diets. These low-cost ingredients need to be properly proportioned so that production performance is not hampered.</p>

Knowledge management in transition management: The ripples of learning

<p>Despite the extensive literature on learning in urban transitions, we still have a limited understanding on how higher-order learning takes place in transition management and is spread within the transition arena. In this paper we analyze the efforts of transferring such embedded knowledge and its interrelation with learning through the examples of three Swedish municipalities engaged in urban transition management. To do so, we developed a framework of learning ripples that conceptualizes learning across social boundaries as an active and two-way process that goes beyond transferring and receiving knowledge, but also requires higher order learning that includes knowledge integration in the form of defining and formulating one’s role and contributions to transitions. We found that higher order learning is largely influenced by the quality and frequency of interactions between the transferer and receivers. The further a stakeholder was located from the center of the transition arena in terms of direct interactions, the less chance occurred for higher order learning that resulted in tensions and conflicts in the collaboration. Our results show the problem as a lack of knowledge integration or a lack of conditions which allow stakeholders to articulate their views or develop an idea about their own role in the whole
